Fu lion mate

Here is the closed mouth mate to my other Fu lion

Fu Lions are usually seen in pairs

Chinese Lions
Male -- has paw on a ball
Female -- has paw on small cub

Japanese Lions
Open mouth -- for freightning bad spirits away
Closed mouth -- for holding good spirits in

I'm not too sure if Chinese lions also have open/closed mouths -- if anyone knows just let me in on it and I'll edit my description

I have also read that some Foo lions have a pearl in thier mouths -- carved to be free from the sculpture but too big to be removed from the lions mouth.
